The U.S. has the highest rate of maternal mortality and morbidity among its peers. The statistics are shocking and the majority of maternal deaths can be prevented. There are concrete, scalable solutions that are within our reach. 1000 Days tells the story of nurse-led solutions that are working to protect women and babies during the critical 1000 day period from pregnancy to a child’s 2nd birthday. The film will shine a light on the work of Certified Nurse Midwives; programs like the Nurse Family Partnership; nurses supporting breastfeeding, and nurses in leadership who are changing the national landscape of maternal health.
